The College of Natural and Applied Sciences is the home of Cooperative Extension & Outreach (CE&O) for the University of Guam. CE&O is part of the nationwide Cooperative Extension System, is partnered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the territory of Guam to serve as the major land-grant extension component of the University. 

Our mission "enables the muticultural community of Guam to make informed decisions through non-formal education programs based on research and identified local needs and to solve the problems and meet the challenges that face the people of Guam."

Through partnered funding from USDA, GovGuam, and other sources, Cooperative Extension & Outreach delivers research-based information to the people of Guam and the region.  Concurrently, ideas, needs, concerns, and emerging trends identified by citizens are communicated to the university to address.  The continuous interaction between research and citizens is engagement.  Cooperative Extension & Outreach is the front door to the University of Guam.

The needs and concerns of citizens drive the mission of Cooperative Extension & Outreach.  Through multiple avenues of non-formal education settings, educators engage citizens with information to improve daily living.  Workshops, conferences, and one-on-one consultations have been the foundation of Extension education, but embracing new technologies for digital connection to citizens is an example of the evolution of Extension education and outreach.

CE&O delivers programs through its offices on the campus of the University of Guam, employs over 50 Extension professionals, faculty, staff, and administrators. The core program areas are in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources, 4-H Youth Development, Consumer and Family Sciences, and Community Development.

There are currently four strategic initiatives CE&O professionals are working to develop:

3. Our Youth, Our Future
